It is with great difficulty that the WCSA board members have decided to cancel Fall League 2020. We have received notifications from over ⅓ of our teams that their university will not be allowing them to participate in Fall sports. We have attempted to look at options to salvage the Fall season, and were not able to come to a viable solution. Wiith the cancellation of the majority of NCAA fall sports, the steps the professional sports leagues had to take to mitigate the spread of the virus, and the high risk of infections in the college aged groups, we believe the risk to be too high for WCSA teams. Especially since there will be travel between different teams from different areas, the likelihood of community spread from one area to another, is just too high.
For teams that have already paid their league fee for Fall 2020. We will be issuing a full refund this week. Under normal circumstances, you should see a credit in the original form of payment within 3-5 business days. However demosphere has notified us this could take up to 14 business days due to the high volume of leagues cancelling fall season and issuing refunds.
For the spring 2021 season, we will be opening registration in October, and we are still planning on having our spring tournament down at Silverlakes Soccer Complex at the end of April. Please check back to our website for more information as it is released.
